Privacy Policy

Overview

Long Beach Places ("we", "our", "the app") helps users discover places in Long Beach, California. This policy explains what we collect and why.

Information We Collect

• Authentication identity: If you choose to sign in, our authentication provider supplies a unique user identifier and, depending on your account settings, your email address. We never receive your password.

• Name: Your sign-in provider may share your name during initial account setup. We store it only to personalize the app. You can decline to share it when available.

• Profile photo: If you choose to add one, it is stored so it can be shown back to you in the app. Optional.

• Favorites: The list of places and events you mark as favorites. This is stored locally on your device while signed out. After sign-in, it is stored with your account in Supabase.

• Contacts access: If you choose Add to Contacts for a place, the app requests device Contacts access so it can present and save that place as a contact. We do not read, upload, or store your existing contacts.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect location data, existing contacts, analytics, advertising identifiers, or any information beyond what is listed above. Contact details are used only to create the place contact you request on your device and are not sent to our servers.

How We Use Your Information

We use data to save and sync favorites, personalize your profile if you provide a name or photo, and create a place contact on your device when you request it. We do not sell, rent, or share your data for marketing.

Third-Party Services

• Authentication provider: handles account sign-in and identity verification.

• Supabase: hosts account, favorites, and profile photo data. Supabase's privacy policy also applies: supabase.com/privacy

Data Retention & Deletion

If you sign in, your account data (favorites, name, photo) is kept until you delete your account. You can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time from Profile > Delete account in the app. If you never sign in, favorites stay only on your device and are removed when you uninstall the app.

Children's Privacy

This app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date shows the latest version.
